These Men’s Mission to Adopt a Kitten Ended Beautifully When A Blind Kitty Found Them Instead

Elliot and Nathanial visited the Lynchburg Humane Society (in Lynchburg, Virginia) amid an adoption ceremony. They had for the longest time been itching to take in a Siamese little cat and were planning to adopt one that day.

“All the Siamese kittens were either on hold or adopted, but thankfully, the lady helping us out thought Merlin would be the perfect fit,” Elliot shared with us.

Merlin was a little cat when he was transfered to the safe house, needing a therapeutic medical checkup and a cherishing home. He was brought into the world for the most part visually impaired and petite in size. Merlin was kept carefully in the shelter’s infirmary. In spite of having no sight, Merlin knew immediately that he had guests.

He welcomed Elliot with a couple of sniffs, nestled into his arms and began purring. “When Merlin cuddled up against me, it was obvious right away that he was the perfect one,” Elliot told us. “He was ready to just be with people and adopted.”

They rounded out the administrative work, and the rest is history. He has mapped out his home like a master by expertly navigating using his other senses. “He is the most relaxed cat I’ve ever met. All he wants is just food and to cuddle.” Elliot gushed.

Merlin loves his family. he purrs and cuddles directly in their arms to grab the attention of his favorite humans.

“I cannot stress how much this cat wants to be cuddled. His favorite thing to do is probably be acknowledged. That or eating.”
“He loves going on walks and meeting people and sniffing everything and anything. But at the end of the day he always comes back to our laps,” Elliot said.

Being visually impaired doesn’t hold him back by any means. He can play, jump, run and hop simply like all the other felines.
The sweet little fluffball is turning two this April and getting jollier day by day with the care of his lovely humans.
